A New River - Colorado Under Water
This is the open space across the street from my home in Colorado Springs in the Oak Valley subdivision. I walked into my bedroom and the windows were open and I heard a sound I had not heard before - a raging river!
Manitou Springs, less than ten miles from my home had a manhole cover burst with Fountain Creek raging. It resembled a geyser in Yellow Stone Park.
Estes Park is landlocked. All valley highways leading to the small resort town are closed.
A TV newscaster said that the amount of rain in Boulder, CO was the equivalent of 220 inches of snow!
